Back to the very impartial wheel

Privacy, plainly.

Who is responsible?

Fate It and this website are provided by Michael Gorini. For privacy questions or requests, email michaelgorini@icloud.com.

Your app journal

Dilemmas, wheel versions, results, explicit preferences and outcome notes are stored on your device. If iCloud is available, the app synchronizes them through your private iCloud database. There is no Fate It server holding a copy of your journal. Apple provides the iCloud service under its own terms and privacy policy.

The app retains journal entries until you delete them. You can export your journal, delete individual decisions or delete all app data in Settings. Synced deletions propagate when devices reconnect. Content-free deletion markers may remain to prevent an offline device from restoring deleted entries. Device backups and archives you export are managed separately.

AI requests

Only your current dilemma, additions, enabled explicit preferences and selected language are used to prepare a wheel with Apple's Foundation Models. Your past journal, outcome notes and reactions are not included in those requests or used to infer your preferences.

Generation can run on-device. When enabled and available, Apple's Private Cloud Compute can process the request. These are Apple services, not a separate Fate It AI provider. Read Apple Intelligence and Privacy for Apple's processing details.

Reminders, sharing and permissions

Reminders are local notifications, created only when you ask. You control notification permission in iOS Settings. Keyboard dictation is managed by iOS. Fate It does not record your microphone or support photo attachments.

Sharing is voluntary. A shared card includes the wheel title and result, plus alternatives and probabilities if you enable them. The original dilemma context and outcome notes are excluded. The sharing destination handles the image under its own policy. Widgets use aggregate counts rather than dilemma text.

This website

The demo wheel runs in your browser. It sends no dilemma, spin or result to us. This site has no advertising, analytics scripts or cookies set by its own code. Fonts and graphics are served with the site. Session storage remembers only the previous displayed wheel percentage, so it can change on your next visit in that tab. It contains no personal identifier and is not used for tracking.

Cloudflare Pages hosts this website. Cloudflare may process technical request data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site, and may use security cookies when required by its services. See Cloudflare's privacy policy. Retention of its infrastructure data depends on Cloudflare's services and policies.

If you contact us

We receive your email address and whatever you choose to send. We use that information to answer your request and keep correspondence only as long as needed to resolve it or meet applicable legal obligations. Please avoid sending private dilemmas or full journal exports unless they are necessary for your request.

Your choices and rights

Local and private-iCloud processing provides the features you request. Website delivery and security, and responding to correspondence, rely on our legitimate interests in operating a safe service and helping its users. Optional actions such as sharing and notifications happen at your request.

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, portability or restriction of personal data we hold, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. We cannot access your device or private iCloud journal, but the app provides export and deletion controls. For Apple or Cloudflare data, their respective privacy controls also apply.

Changes
